The 9060-SCTS (Shaft Calibrator Touch Select) is a versatile tool designed by Metrix for testing proximity probe systems in various configurations. It supports 5mm, 8mm, or 11mm probes with specific probe body length requirements depending on the setup:
- Static Calibrator Mode: Requires a minimum probe body length of 63mm (2.5″).
- Shaft Calibrator Mode (with Shaft Mounting Adapter): Requires a minimum probe body length of 100mm (4.0″).
In both modes, it accommodates probe systems with diameters up to 22mm, including reverse mount probes while still in their holders. The system offers precise gap adjustments using a Gap Adjustment Ring, where each “Click” or “Measurement Stop” adjusts the gap in increments of 200 µm (metric) or 10 mils (English), based on the selected model.
When configured with the Target Mounting Plate (standardized 4140 target material, with other materials available), the 9060-SCTS serves as a static calibrator. Alternatively, with the Shaft Mounting Adapter, it functions as a shaft calibrator. The system is specifically intended for evaluating proximity probe system outputs in mV/mil or mV/µm, ideal for testing machine shafts or piston rods.
